Formula, assumptions and FAQ
Method

The formula

Foreign amount = KRW ÷ (quoted rate ÷ quote unit); KRW amount = foreign amount × (quoted rate ÷ quote unit)

Calculations run in your browser. Displayed values are rounded, while intermediate calculations keep their full precision.

Scope

What this estimate assumes

  • Uses Korea Eximbank AP01 base and telegraphic-transfer rates.
  • JPY is officially quoted per 100 yen and is normalized to one yen for calculations.
  • Rates are checked after 11:00, 14:00 and 18:00 KST only when a visitor requests the calculator; weekends and holidays may show the latest business day.
  • Long-term charts use the Bank of Korea ECOS 731Y001 daily base-rate series; the CNH selection uses ECOS CNY history as a clearly labeled reference.
  • Cash-exchange fees, card fees and bank-specific preferential discounts are excluded.

FAQ

Common questions

Why can this differ from a search engine quote?

Providers, timestamps and rate types differ. Firessem uses the Korea Eximbank date and rate displayed on this page.

Will I receive exactly this amount?

No. Your bank or card issuer can apply cash spreads, transfer fees, card fees or preferential-rate discounts.

Does the rate update on weekends?

A new official rate may not be published on weekends or Korean public holidays, so the latest business-day rate is shown.
